Carlos Alcaraz has secured a place in the quarterfinals of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna after defeating Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-1, 7-6(11). The victory extends the world number three's winning streak at the ATP 500 level to 23 matches.

Earlier in the tournament, Alcaraz overcame Karen Khachanov in a two-hour and four-minute battle, winning 6-4, 7-6(5). Following his progression, Alcaraz is set to face Tommy Paul in the next round.

Despite his success on the court, Alcaraz expressed concerns regarding tournament conditions. He noted that high music volumes during breaks hindered concentration and criticized the quality of the tennis balls, stating that rapid felt wear made it difficult to apply power and maintain rhythm.
