Alcaraz is recovering from a right wrist injury sustained in April, which caused him to miss Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the Cincinnati Open. While recent training sessions show increased intensity and positive sensations, his participation in the upcoming US Open remains uncertain. A final decision regarding his availability for the Grand Slam is expected within the week. Additionally, Alcaraz will not participate in the upcoming Davis Cup matches for Spain.

Holger Rune is also undergoing rehabilitation following an Achilles tendon rupture suffered in October 2025. While his return to official matches is anticipated for the autumn season, his training session with Alcaraz serves as a significant milestone in his recovery process.
