Carlos Alcaraz and João Fonseca to play exhibition match in São Paulo
Carlos Alcaraz and João Fonseca are scheduled to face each other in an exhibition tennis match on December 12 in São Paulo, Brazil. The event will take place at the Arena Nubank Parque.
This match serves as a rematch for Fonseca, who previously lost to Alcaraz in both a December 2025 exhibition in Miami and a March 2026 Masters 1000 match in Miami. Fonseca expressed enthusiasm on social media, stating that the time for a rematch has arrived and noting the advantage of playing on home soil.
The announcement comes despite Alcaraz’s recent public criticisms regarding the ATP Tour schedule. The Spaniard has voiced concerns that the high volume of tournaments and matches places excessive pressure on players and contributes to injury risks.
