Carlos Alcaraz arrives in London for Laver Cup

Carlos Alcaraz has arrived in London to compete in the Laver Cup at the O2 Arena, marking a significant step in his return to professional tennis following a wrist injury that sidelined him for several months. Alcaraz, representing Team Europe, expressed his desire to reclaim the title for the continent after last year's loss.

During training sessions, Alcaraz shared a lighthearted moment with teammate Alexander Zverev, the recent US Open champion. Alcaraz questioned Zverev about his reaction during the US Open final, where the German appeared unaware he had secured the victory. Zverev humorously explained that he was focused on the score and felt that being “stupid” helped him avoid unnecessary stress during the match's closing stages.

Alcaraz praised Zverev, stating he is “probably the best player in the world right now” and will be a vital asset for Team Europe. The tournament, which runs from September 25 to 27, features Team Europe against Team World. Team Europe is led by captain Yannick Noah and includes players such as Casper Ruud and Flavio Cobolli, while Team World is captained by Andre Agassi.
