Carlos Alcaraz's US Open participation uncertain due to wrist injury
World number 2 Carlos Alcaraz remains sidelined due to a right wrist injury that has kept him off the court since April. While the Spanish player is increasing the intensity of his training, his participation in the upcoming US Open in New York remains uncertain.
Stephen Smith, CEO of Kitman Labs and an injury prevention expert, has advised against Alcaraz competing in the tournament. Smith noted that the extreme heat, high humidity, and hard courts of New York, combined with the physical demands of best-of-five-set matches, pose significant health risks for a player returning from a long absence.
