Carlos Alcaraz's wrist rehab advances as he eyes a July return to US hard‑court events
Spain’s world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz has been sidelined since April because of inflammation of the tendon sheath in his right wrist. After missing the Madrid, Rome, French Open and Wimbledon tournaments, he was recently photographed running without any wrist support, a sign that his physical conditioning is improving.
Former Spanish Davis Cup captain David Ferrer and 2016 French Open champion Garbine Muguruza said the rehabilitation is proceeding as planned and urged patience, with Ferrer noting, “everything is going in the right direction,” and Muguruza adding, “please stay calm.” Alcaraz is targeting a comeback at the July hard‑court swing in the United States, aiming to defend points at events such as the Cincinnati Masters and ultimately the US Open. No official comeback date has been announced, and he is expected to skip the grass‑court season.
