Carlos Baleba injury delays Manchester United debut

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that new midfielder Carlos Baleba is expected to miss approximately two to three weeks due to an ankle injury. The injury, sustained during a friendly against Strasbourg, was known prior to the £70 million transfer from Brighton.

Carrick described the 22-year-old Cameroon international as having ‘huge potential’ and ‘massive potential,’ noting that his attributes will provide much-needed balance and variety to the squad's midfield. Depending on his recovery, Baleba may not make his debut until after the upcoming three-week international break.

In addition to Baleba's absence, Carrick confirmed that winger Amad Diallo will remain sidelined for the upcoming match against Ipswich. However, Mason Mount is currently in contention to return to the lineup.
