Carlos Baleba set for Manchester United debut amid midfield rebuild

Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba is expected to make his debut within the next 10 to 14 days. The Cameroonian international joined the club from Brighton in a deal worth up to £70 million, serving as a replacement for Casemiro.

Manager Michael Carrick is overseeing a significant midfield rebuild following a summer spending spree exceeding £150 million. In addition to Baleba, the club has added Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48 million and Belgian international Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million. These signings follow the departure of Casemiro and an injury to Manuel Ugarte.

The increased squad depth comes as United prepares for a congested schedule, including UEFA Champions League fixtures and a series of Premier League matches. While Kobbie Mainoo has impressed in recent performances, the influx of new talent is expected to allow Carrick to rotate his options throughout the season.
