Carlos Brandão denies accusations from convicted murderer

Maranhão Governor Carlos Brandão has denied accusations made by Gilson Cutrim, a convicted murderer, claiming the allegations are “lies” and lack any supporting evidence. The accusations, based on Cutrim’s testimony to the Federal Police, suggest that the convict participated in meetings with the governor and used a specific parking space, designated as number 6, at the Palácio dos Leões, the state government headquarters.

To refute these claims, Brandão published photos on social media showing that parking space number 6 has been occupied by a power generator for the past six years. The governor stated he has never had a relationship with Cutrim and has never received him at the Palácio or any other location. Brandão also noted that his legal defense has not yet been granted full access to the case files currently under the responsibility of the Supreme Federal Court.
