Carlos Carvalhal leaves Famalicão coaching position

Futebol Clube de Famalicão has announced the departure of head coach Carlos Carvalhal by mutual agreement. The decision follows a difficult start to the season, highlighted by a recent elimination from the Taça de Portugal after a 0-1 loss to Liga 3 side Paredes.

Carvalhal, 60, took over the position earlier this season following the departure of Hugo Oliveira to Strasbourg. During his tenure, the club secured only one victory in nine official matches. Famalicão currently sits in 13th place in the league standings.

The club's management, led by Miguel Ribeiro, is currently searching for a successor. Assistant coach Ricardo Silva may lead the team for the upcoming match against Rio Ave.
