Carlos ‘Chicken’ Muñoz hospitalized with septic shock

Mexican television presenter Carlos ‘Chicken’ Muñoz recently underwent emergency surgery and intensive care following a life-threatening medical crisis. Muñoz reported suffering from septic shock caused by acute peritonitis, which resulted from a ruptured appendix.

The presenter shared on social media that he believes the infection may have been triggered by consuming a tuna poke bowl. He noted that medical tests detected three types of bacteria and a virus, suggesting potential contamination during preparation. During his hospitalization, his condition was critical, involving a significant drop in blood pressure and the use of a catheter inserted through the jugular vein to reach the heart, alongside medication to stabilize his system.

Muñoz, known for his work with TV Azteca and Multimedios, stated that he is now recovering and viewing the experience as a second chance at life.
