Carlos de Ory investigated for alleged 15 million euro fraud in Indonesia

Spanish authorities, specifically the Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit (UDEF), are investigating businessman Carlos de Ory regarding the Eco Beach City real estate project on the Indonesian island of Sumba. A collective lawsuit involving more than 200 affected individuals has been filed with the Audiencia Nacional.

The project promised an ecological city featuring villas, apartments, and tourist accommodations. However, investors report significant delays and unmet financial demands. Estimates suggest the alleged fraud involves approximately 15 million euros, with the potential number of victims reaching 1,400 people. Investigators are currently working to trace the destination of the funds and are contacting investors to gather further information.
