Carlos Fávaro faces potential candidacy challenges over registration issues

Senator and re-election candidate Carlos Fávaro (PSD) has been summoned by the Regional Electoral Court of Mato Grosso (TRE-MT) to address pending issues regarding his candidacy registration. The court issued a three-day deadline for Fávaro to provide an appropriate photograph and two criminal certificates from the Federal Court (TRF1) and the State Court (TJMT).

Failure to comply could result in the denial of his candidacy registration. While Fávaro has already submitted the photograph and the federal certificate, which showed no disqualifying records, he is still awaiting the release of state-level certificates. He has presented two criminal cases at the state level, including one with a final judgment, and has requested explanatory documents to clarify the status of these proceedings to the court.
