Colombian security forces conducted a joint operation involving the Army, Police, and Air Force in the rural area of Tello, Huila, resulting in the death of Miguel Orlando Guzmán González, known as alias Robinson Gutiérrez. Guzmán González was identified as the political and financial leader of the Teófilo Forero Castro structure, a faction of the Segunda Marquetalia dissident group.

Authorities allege that Guzmán González was involved in financing the 2025 assassination of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay. The operation, which took place in the El Cadillo sector, also led to the capture of three other members of the armed group and the seizure of various weapons, including long guns, short guns, grenades, a grenade launcher, and communication equipment.

President Abelardo de la Espriella confirmed the death of the leader, noting that the operation strikes a significant blow to the financial and command capabilities of the Segunda Marquetalia in the Huila and Caquetá regions. The group is accused of various criminal activities, including extortion, child recruitment, and terrorist attacks against civilians and public forces.
