Carlos Heller defends Azul Azul share sale amid fraud investigation

Businessman Carlos Heller has addressed the controversy surrounding the sale of his shares in Azul Azul, the company that manages the Universidad de Chile football club. The sale, which resulted in Tactical Sport taking control of the concessionaire, is currently under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office following allegations of fraudulent activity.

Heller defended the legality of the transaction, stating that the process was conducted in complete order and under the oversight of the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF). He emphasized that the sale was made to an investment fund with a known address and established executives.

Heller expressed regret over the current situation, noting that he had no way of knowing the identities of the individuals allegedly operating behind the scenes or the illegal schemes currently being denounced by authorities. The crisis follows the imprisonment of Michael Clark for serious financial crimes related to the acquisition of the club's shares.
