Carlos Loret de Mola raises corruption allegations against Sheinbaum administration

Journalist Carlos Loret de Mola has issued a series of pointed questions directed at Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum regarding allegations of corruption and nepotism involving the family of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The inquiries include allegations that associates of Andy López Beltrán received multi-billion peso contracts and were recorded discussing corrupt acts. Loret de Mola also questioned whether relatives of the former president received undisclosed cash payments and if a son of the former president was appointed as a supervisor for a train project that resulted in 14 deaths despite lacking relevant experience.

Additional allegations raised include claims that Carlos Ímaz, the former husband of President Sheinbaum, was filmed receiving large sums of money from a businessman, and that relatives of the Secretary of the Navy operated a fiscal fuel theft network within the armed forces. The journalist also raised concerns regarding the appointment of a security official allegedly linked to the criminal organization La Barredora and the kidnapping of political opponents during elections in Sinaloa.
