Carlos Manuel Jiménez Díaz faces corruption allegations in Veracruz
Carlos Manuel Jiménez Díaz, who serves simultaneously as subsecretary and director general of livestock for the Secretariat of Agricultural Development (Sedarpa), is facing allegations of corruption and abuse of authority. Former employees have used social media to report misconduct, including the dismissal of experienced zoosanitary inspectors to make room for preferred personnel. These changes allegedly aim to facilitate illicit business at inspection points.
Reports indicate that many dismissed workers were left with unpaid wages for several months. Additionally, some re-hired staff resigned due to poor working conditions, noting that inspection sites lack basic utilities such as water, electricity, and climate control. The subsecretary has reportedly indicated he will address these issues only after participating in a Morena party survey to secure a candidacy for deputy in District VIII.
Separately, Dante Delgado has issued a firm statement from Veracruz, asserting that local leadership will not tolerate intimidation or the conditioning of support by the governor.
