Carlos María Zárate wins M15 Trelew tennis tournament

Argentine tennis player Carlos María Zárate won the M15 TrelewCopa Chubut Deportes title, becoming the first Argentine to claim victory in this tournament. Competing at the Trelew Tennis Club on hard courts, Zárate, ranked 385th in the ATP, defeated fellow Argentine Lorenzo Gagliardo in the final with a score of 6-3, 6-4.

The match lasted 1 hour and 19 minutes, during which Zárate converted four of eleven break point opportunities. This victory marks Zárate's third professional title, following previous wins at the M25 Luján and M15 San Salvador de Jujuy.

Zárate's performance in Trelew has placed him at the top of the Beca Galperín, a program that rewards the two best Argentine tennis players under 22 who earn the most ATP points within the country. He is scheduled to return to competition at the Buenos Aires Challenger later this month.
