Carlos Pollán meets Senegal ambassador to discuss migrant minor returns

Carlos Pollán, Vice President of the Junta of Castilla y León and leader of the Vox party, is meeting with Senegalese Ambassador Ibrahim Al Khalil Seck in Madrid to explore institutional cooperation regarding the return of unaccompanied foreign minors.

The initiative aims to establish mechanisms for the effective repatriation and family reunification of migrant minors currently under the guardianship of the regional administration. Pollán seeks to leverage agreements with countries of origin to facilitate the identification and location of families, in accordance with Article 35.2 of the Organic Law on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain.

This move comes as Castilla y León faces resource challenges; reports indicate the region is currently caring for approximately 160 unaccompanied minors, exceeding its capacity of 130 places by roughly 23%. Any repatriation efforts must comply with Spanish legislation and child protection guarantees.
