La Quiaca Manka Fiesta: Governor Sadir promotes Free Trade Zone

Governor Carlos Sadir participated in the 2026 Manka Fiesta in La Quiaca, an ancestral celebration of the Puna region that brings together artisans, producers, and families. The event aims for international recognition, with efforts underway to have it designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

During the festivities, Sadir reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to developing the La Quiaca Free Trade Zone (Zona Franca) to attract investment, expand commercial opportunities, and create jobs in the border city. The event also featured the return of the Camelid and Producer Expoferia, which had not been held in the city for over 15 years.

Local infrastructure improvements were also highlighted, including the opening of the Paseo de los Escritores at the former railway station and the inauguration of a new basketball court floor at the High Performance Center. Additionally, progress was noted on the second stage of the Mercado Minorista project.
