Carlos Sainz expresses doubt over Williams performance

Carlos Sainz has expressed skepticism regarding Williams' ability to resolve technical issues ahead of the 2027 season. Speaking in Brazil, the driver identified three primary failures during the 2026 campaign: delays in car preparation, excessive weight, and the selection of the aerodynamic concept.

While Sainz is confident that weight and preparation issues will be addressed, he noted that the aerodynamic concept remains a significant concern. He reported a discrepancy between simulator data and real-world track performance, stating that not all updates are working as expected. This lack of correlation has led to a level of doubt regarding the development numbers being produced for next year.

During practice sessions in Brazil, Sainz also noted atypical weather conditions, including low temperatures and fog, which complicated tire management. He emphasized that his current focus is on experimentation and data collection to assist the team's long-term development, rather than immediate race results.
