Carlos Sainz says he will not seek a new team until after summer break, stays focused on Williams
Spanish Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz confirmed he will not discuss his future with any team until the mid‑season summer break. Under contract with Williams Racing through the end of 2026, Sainz said his priority is to help the team overcome the current lack of competitiveness caused by the overweight FW48 chassis. He highlighted extensive simulator work, technical meetings and a plan for upgrades at upcoming circuits such as Silverstone, Spa, Budapest and Zandvoort, aiming to improve performance before the planned new‑spec car for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Sainz asked his management to leave him undisturbed until the break so he can concentrate fully on the Williams project, stressing his commitment to the long‑term development of the team despite speculation about possible moves for the 2027 season.
