Carlos Sainz sees hope but admits Williams limits his fight at Barcelona GP
Spanish Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz said the unpredictable nature of Sunday’s Barcelona‑Catalunya Grand Prix gives him some hope of improving on his 16th‑place start. He explained that the team may need to run three pit stops if tyre degradation allows, noting the heat and wind have made the cars hard to handle.
After the race, Sainz accepted that the Williams car cannot challenge the front‑runners. He finished 12th, describing the weekend as solid but hampered by limited performance, tyre wear and the team's inability to compete with the leading Alpine, Audi and Red Bull entries. He highlighted a good start and tyre management but concluded the car does not allow him to fight for higher positions this season.
