Carlos Sainz to spend summer break on the Balearic Islands before Dutch GP

Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz announced that, following the Hungarian Grand Prix, he will observe the traditional summer break on the Balearic Islands, staying with his family at his parents' house in Mallorca. He reflected on a difficult weekend in Budapest, where he finished 18th after a collision with Oscar Piastri and received a five‑second penalty, leaving him 15th in the driver standings with six points. While the pause is largely for rest, Sainz will also run a fitness programme and informal training camps with friends before the season resumes at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.

The driver highlighted the three‑decade tradition of mixing leisure with preparation, combining time on Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca with a brief training stint before the next race.
