Michoacán implements union autonomy laws and political shifts

The Michoacán State Congress has passed reforms to guarantee union autonomy by adding articles to the State Workers Law and the Administrative Responsibilities Law. The new measures establish sanctions for public servants who attempt to intervene in union decisions, including dismissal, suspension, and disqualification from office for one to 20 years, as well as economic and legal penalties.

In political developments, Carlos Torres Piña has been named the State Coordinator for the Defense of the 4T and National Sovereignty in Michoacán following a decisive internal Morena party process. Torres Piña achieved a perfect score in the party's internal survey, leading competitors in indicators such as honesty, knowledge of the state, and voter preference.

Additionally, Torres Piña highlighted support from President Claudia Sheinbaum for the Michoacán avocado sector. This follows the signing of agreements intended to strengthen and guarantee the export of avocados, a vital economic activity for the region that generates approximately 3.5 billion dollars in revenue.
