Carlsberg reports 3.4% revenue growth in first nine months
Danish brewing group Carlsberg reported revenue of 72.334 billion Danish kroner (approximately 9.678 billion euros) for the first nine months of the year, representing a 3.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Regional performance varied, with Western Europe seeing a 3% revenue increase. In Central and Eastern Europe and India, revenue grew by 8%, while revenue in Asia remained largely unchanged. Total volume distributed reached 119.2 million hectoliters, driven by a 10.3% increase in non-beer beverages, which offset a 1.9% decline in beer volumes.
CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen noted that the group's multi-beverage portfolio helped compensate for a challenging trading environment in China, where premium beer volumes saw a decline. The company maintained its full-year outlook, forecasting operating profit growth between 4% and 6%, though it warned of a potential 100 million kroner impact due to foreign exchange fluctuations.
Additional developments include the expansion of a strategic partnership with PepsiCo into Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia, and the expected completion of the Sapporo joint venture in Southeast Asia by year-end.
