Carlton edges closer to AFL finals spot with win over St Kilda
Carlton secured a 44-point victory over St Kilda at Marvel Stadium, moving closer to a wildcard spot in the AFL's inaugural wildcard round. Under interim coach Josh Fraser, the Blues have won 10 of their last 12 matches, positioning themselves two games ahead of St Kilda.
St Kilda's season faced a significant setback when Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera suffered a potential season-ending left hamstring injury within the first nine minutes of the match. Coach Ross Lyon described the loss as an “arrow through the heart.”
Carlton's performance was highlighted by Francis Evans, who recorded 22 disposals and 12 inside 50s, and Harry McKay, who kicked three goals. Following the win, supporters expressed desire for Josh Fraser to be appointed as the permanent replacement for Michael Voss. Fraser noted he would decide whether to officially apply for the permanent coaching role this coming week.
