Carlton interim coach Josh Fraser rules out senior coaching role

Josh Fraser, the caretaker interim coach of the AFL's Carlton Blues, announced he will not pursue the club's senior coaching position after Michael Voss resigned. Fraser will lead the team in its upcoming match against the Western Bulldogs and will oversee the club for the next 14 weeks.

Fraser said he is ambitious but does not feel ready for a full‑time senior role, adding that the interim appointment gives him a chance to learn and help the club move forward. He emphasized his focus on the team's collective progress rather than personal advancement.

The former Collingwood and Gold Coast ruckman has extensive development coaching experience with the Suns, Carlton and Collingwood, and has coached state‑league sides including the Northern Bullants. He also named rookie Jack Ison, the club’s first NGA‑graduate, to make his AFL debut in the match against the Bulldogs. Carlton will now begin the search for a new permanent senior coach.
