Carly Simon Releases First New Album in 17 Years, Shares Song 'Peaches

Carly Simon, the 82‑year‑old singer‑songwriter, announced a new studio album titled *Comes in Waves* – her first since 2008 – and released the single “Peaches.” The track, described as reflecting the gap between expected ease and personal struggle, appears on the album slated for an August 14 release.

Simon disclosed a recent Parkinson’s disease diagnosis and a recent basal‑cell carcinoma surgery, noting how the health updates have influenced her public presence. The album was produced by longtime collaborator Paul Samwell‑Smith and recorded at Simon’s own studio on Martha’s Vineyard. It features contributions from her children, musician Ben Taylor and vocalist Sally Taylor, who also helped with the artwork. The release marks a return after a 17‑year hiatus from new studio material.
