Carly Simon has released her first studio album in over 18 years, titled ‘Come in Waves’. The new material appears to reflect on her past marriage to James Taylor, with whom she was wed from 1972 to 1983.

In the track ‘Maybe I Never Loved You’, the 83-year-old singer explores the complexities of their relationship, featuring lyrics that question the nature of their love and acknowledge their shared history and children. Another song on the album, ‘Mother of Pearl’, addresses her daughter Sally and discusses the impact of the divorce on her children, Ben and Sally.
