Carlyle to acquire Nidec Components from Nidec Corporation
The American investment firm Carlyle has agreed to acquire Nidec Components Corporation from its parent company, Nidec Corporation. The transaction, valued at approximately 103 billion yen (nearly 580 million euros), is part of Nidec Corporation’s strategy to rationalize its portfolio.
Nidec Components, founded in 1967, specializes in the design and manufacture of industrial electronic components, including pressure sensors, switches, torque sensors, encoders, and precision miniature motors. The company is positioned to benefit from long-term growth trends in artificial intelligence and industrial automation.
As a standalone entity, Nidec Components is expected to gain greater flexibility in decision-making, resource allocation, and growth investments. Carlyle intends to work with the existing management team to support global expansion and operational improvements. The transfer of all shares to Carlyle is expected to be completed by December 1, 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
