Carman Lee: The iconic TVB actress who retired from stardom

Carman Lee, the acclaimed Hong Kong actress known as the ‘number one beauty in period dramas,’ has transitioned from a prominent television career to a private life. She rose to immense fame in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly through her role as Zhao Min in the 1986 TVB adaptation of Jin Yong’s ‘The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber.’

Her performance alongside Tony Leung Chiu-wai made her a leading star at TVB. After leaving the network to work as a freelance actress, she continued to appear in successful films. However, she eventually stepped away from the entertainment industry around 2000 and has since maintained a low profile.
