CarMax recognized for corporate culture and sees increased institutional investment

CarMax, Inc. has been recognized as one of the 2026 PEOPLE Companies That Care, ranking #70 on the list. This marks the seventh time the Richmond-based used vehicle retailer has received the honor, which is presented by PEOPLE magazine and Great Place To Work based on employee survey data.

In fiscal year 2026, the company reported that 100% of its locations participated in volunteer programs, with over 75% of associates engaging in community initiatives. Additionally, companywide walking and running events involving more than 12,000 associates raised $100,000 for The Mission Continues and the CarMax Associate Disaster Relief Fund.

In separate financial news, NewEdge Advisors LLC significantly increased its stake in CarMax by 63% during the first quarter, bringing its total holdings to 69,568 shares valued at approximately $2.89 million. Other institutional investors, including Mirae Asset Global ETFs Holdings Ltd. and Intech Investment Management LLC, also reported increased positions in the company during the same period.
