Carmelo Cogliandro, former Brindisi Calcio president, dies

Italian football executive Carmelo Cogliandro, who led Brindisi Calcio at the turn of the millennium and later served as a director of Alma Juventus Fano, has died. He was remembered for guiding Brindisi to promotion to Serie D in 1999‑2000 and for his long‑standing commitment to the clubs and their communities. Local politician Francesco Panaroni, a member of the Five Star Movement, said Cogliandro was “a person of integrity, a great loss.” Tributes highlighted his honesty, dedication to the sport and his role in attempts to rescue Alma Juventus Fano. Cogliandro is survived by his wife and daughters.
