Carmelo Pace elected National Secretary of Democrazia Cristiana

Carmelo Pace has been elected as the new National Secretary of the Democrazia Cristiana (Christian Democracy) during a meeting of the National Council in Rome. The assembly was convened by National Council President Renato Grassi.

Despite recent internal tensions within the party, the election proceeded regularly. Pace stated that his leadership aims to turn a new page by strengthening the party’s identity, values, and presence in the national political landscape. He emphasized the need to move past internal divisions and transform confrontation into constructive participation.

In his inaugural address, Pace called for unity among leaders, councilors, members, and militants, expressing a commitment to preparing an organized and unified party for upcoming electoral appointments. He aims to make the Democrazia Cristiana a political community capable of offering clear perspectives to citizens.
