Carmen Julia Navarro Gómez named among Mexico's top 50 water sector leaders

Dr. Carmen Julia Navarro Gómez, a researcher in the Faculty of Engineering at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, was included for the sixth consecutive year in the 2026 edition of Líderes Mexicanos’ list of the 300 most influential figures, as one of the 50 leaders of the water sector in Mexico. The selection follows an editorial methodology that gathers opinions from experts, specialists and key actors across government, operators, associations, companies, researchers and civil society.

The recognition highlights the collaborative work between the university and the Chihuahua Municipal Water and Sanitation Board, which has advanced projects on pressure management, hydraulic sectorisation, physical efficiency, continuous supply and water security. The award underscores Chihuahua’s growing presence in the national agenda for sustainable water management.
