Carmen Lilia Cantúrosas addresses smear campaigns in Nuevo Laredo

Carmen Lilia Cantúrosas, the mayor of Nuevo Laredo, has addressed recent smear campaigns targeting her through fake websites and the use of artificial intelligence. She characterized the attacks as efforts by former political figures to discredit her following their electoral defeats.

Cantúrosas stated that she intends to respond to these accusations with work and tangible results for the citizens. She noted that despite the digital attacks, a Mitofsky survey ranked her as the second-best evaluated mayor in Mexico, citing high levels of public acceptance.
