Carmen Patricia Portillo appointed head of Misiones Police Regional Unit III

The Police Chief of Misiones appointed Comisario Inspector Carmen Patricia Portillo to lead the Regional Police Unit III based in Eldorado, making her the first woman to hold the post since the unit’s creation five decades ago and the second woman ever to head a regional unit in the province.

Portillo, who previously served as deputy chief of the jurisdiction, has spent most of her career in northern Misiones, including roles in Puerto Iguazú, Eldorado’s operations area, women’s police stations, community policing, and motor vehicle verification. In her new role she will oversee eight regular precincts, a women’s precinct, east and west radio commands, a crime‑prevention division, a motorized division, an investigations brigade and the CIO 911 center, managing personnel and logistics across Eldorado, Puerto Mado, Colonia Victoria, 9 de Julio and Santiago de Liniers.
