Gran Hermano controversy: Carmiña Masi alleges unpaid fees while Jenny Mavinga reports threats

Paraguayan journalist Carmiña Masi, a former contestant on Telefe’s “Gran Hermano Generación Dorada”, says the production has failed to pay her agreed remuneration and that she was humiliated after being excluded from the repechage. She posted on Instagram demanding the owed amount and warning of possible legal action. Host Santiago del Moro replied, noting that foreign workers must open local bank accounts, which can delay payments, and dismissed rumors about the show’s budget.

The repechage decision required former contestant Jenny Mavinga, originally from the Congo, to grant a “Golden Ticket” for Masi’s return. Mavinga refused, citing prior discriminatory comments that led to Masi’s expulsion. Following the live broadcast, Mavinga disclosed receiving violent threats and harassment directed at her family and her hair‑dressing business, saying she had to take her daughters to school hooded for safety. She reported cancelled appointments and social‑media accounts being reported.

Both participants criticised the show’s producers for turning the dispute into a public spectacle. Telefe has not issued an official statement, and the controversy continues to generate intense debate on social media.
