Carmignano approves new bridge project over Furba torrent

The Carmignano municipal government has approved the technical feasibility project for a new bridge over the Furba torrent in via Valle, Seano. This project aims to replace the structure that was severely damaged and subsequently closed following the floods of November 2023.

The new bridge will be a single-span steel structure consisting of nine metal beams. The project represents a decisive step toward the bidding and construction phases, following a service conference that raised no objections. Funding for the work has been secured through the Region.

The total investment is approximately 550,000 euros. The original bridge, built shortly after World War II, primarily served agricultural vehicles and local residents via alternating one-way traffic. Since the 2023 flood, the municipality has provided temporary pedestrian safety measures, but officials stated that a permanent solution was necessary to restore full access.
