Carmignano cultural heritage highlighted during regional tour
Cristina Manetti, the regional assessor for culture and tourism, conducted a tour of Carmignano in Tuscany to promote cultural tourism and the preservation of local heritage. The visit included several key sites aimed at highlighting the region's diverse historical and artistic assets.
In Artimino, Manetti visited the “Francesco Nicosia” Archaeological Museum, where she viewed a new wing housing ivories discovered in the Montefortini Tumulus in Comeana. The tour continued to a polyvalent educational center to view a reconstructed Etruscan excavation and banquet hall, offering views of the Medicean villa La Ferdinanda.
The itinerary concluded in Seano at the Quinto Martini Museum Park and the artist's former studio. Manetti emphasized the potential for the area to develop as a destination for slow cultural tourism, bridging the gap between ancient Etruscan archaeology and modern artistic landscapes.
