New police chiefs appointed in Livorno and Ancona
Several new police chiefs (Questori) have been appointed to lead provincial police headquarters in Italy.
In Livorno, Michele Abenante has assumed office, succeeding Giuseppina Stellino. Abenante, who previously served in Terni, emphasized a strategy of “proximity policing” and being a “glass palace” open to listening to citizens. He noted that while he has not yet detected organized crime infiltration in Livorno, he intends to focus on drug trafficking and predatory crimes.
In Ancona, Alfredo D’Agostino has been installed as the new Questore. His first official acts included paying respects to fallen members of the State Police and meeting with local officials and union representatives.
Additionally, a medical congress is scheduled in Lodi to discuss innovations in gynecological surgery and the integration of robotics, such as the Da Vinci system, in operating rooms.
