Carnegie Museum of Art hosts 59th Carnegie International

The 59th Carnegie International, a quadrennial exhibition of contemporary art, is currently on display at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. Titled ‘if the word we’, the exhibit explores themes of community and connection.

Running from May through January 3, the exhibition features a diverse range of works, including paintings, video installations, and found objects. The Carnegie International has a long history dating back to 1896, having previously showcased artists such as Auguste Rodin and featured Vincent Price as a judge in 1958.

Eric Crosby, the director of the Carnegie Museum of Art, noted that the International serves as a space where artists, ideas, and the public meet, allowing the museum to test new ways of thinking about its global role.
