Carnifex announces new album ‘More Than Misery’

Southern California deathcore band Carnifex has announced their new album, ‘More Than Misery’, scheduled for release on November 6th via Sumerian Records. The announcement includes the release of the album’s title track and an accompanying music video.

Vocalist Scott Ian Lewis described the record as a shift in perspective, noting that while previous works were written during moments of suffering, this album explores the aftermath of survival. Lewis stated, ‘More Than Misery is about what happens when suffering becomes more than something you endure, it becomes what changes you.’

Musically, the band aimed to blend the directness of their 2005 era with their more recent symphonic and death metal influences. The album was recorded in Tennessee with Whitechapel guitarist Zach Householder and mixed by Jeff Dunne, with a focus on ensuring the material is effective for live performances.
