Carnival celebrations prepare for 2027 season in Belgium and Netherlands

Regional carnival organizers in Ninove, Belgium, and Oosterhout, Netherlands, have announced upcoming festivities for the 2027 season.

The Koninklijke Karnavalraad of Ninove has introduced a renewed, less formal format for its official season opening. The new approach aims to present carnival activities in a more playful and relaxed manner. The event will include participation from local officials and the unveiling of the 2027 carnival poster.

In the Netherlands, the Stichting Oosterhoutse Gildefeesten has launched ticket sales for the fifth anniversary edition of the Kaaiendonks CarnavalSpektakel, scheduled for January 31, 2027, at Theater de Bussel. The jubilee edition will feature the CarnavalSpektakelOrkest, led by Waldo van Wijk, and includes a 'MeezingSpektakel' livestream designed to bring the festivities to residents in local care homes.
