Carnival Cruise Line announces final Australian voyages for 2028

Carnival Cruise Line has announced the final Australian itineraries for the Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa, both of which are scheduled to permanently depart Australian waters in March 2028.

To facilitate this exit, the cruise line has scheduled repositioning voyages. The Carnival Adventure will depart Sydney on March 20, 2028, for a 19-day trip to Tokyo via Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong, followed by a transpacific voyage to Seattle. The Carnival Luminosa will depart Sydney on March 15, 2028, for a 23-day voyage to Los Angeles via Hawaii and French Polynesia.

The withdrawal has prompted concerns within the cruise industry regarding Australia’s competitiveness. The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has noted that rising costs and regulatory uncertainty are influencing ship deployments toward other regions.
