Carnival Cruise Line opens bookings for new Carnival Tropicale ship

Carnival Cruise Line has officially opened reservations for its newest vessel, the Carnival Tropicale, which is scheduled to debut in Galveston, Texas, on April 15, 2028. The ship is the fifth and final addition to the company’s Excel class.

Construction of the ship has commenced at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, marked by a recent ‘steel cutting’ ceremony. The Carnival Tropicale will be approximately 344 meters long, with a gross tonnage of roughly 180,000, and is designed to accommodate over 6,000 guests. It will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and will feature the ‘Star of Texas’ on its bow to honor its future homeport.

Itineraries for the new ship will include four-, five-, six-, and eight-day cruises visiting destinations in the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Mexico, including the company’s Paradise Collection.

In separate maritime news, CMPC has secured land in Rio Grande, Brazil, for the construction of a new private terminal, Terminal Rio Grande do Sul S.A., aimed at optimizing cellulose logistics. Additionally, the cruise season in Magallanes, Chile, has officially begun with the departure of the Ventus Australis, and the Port of Alicante, Spain, is reporting record-breaking passenger numbers for its high season.
