Carnival Cruise passengers claim wine confiscated despite policy

Two passengers on a Carnival Cruise Line trip reported that their wine bottles were confiscated during embarkation, despite following the company’s policy that allows guests aged 21 or older to bring one 750-milliliter bottle of wine or champagne in their carry-on luggage.

According to a TikTok video shared by passenger Anna White, staff allegedly confiscated the bottles because they were ‘not reacting like wine,’ though no further explanation was provided. White also noted that she and her twin sister were repeatedly questioned about their ages during the check-in process, with her sister being asked if she was 16.

While specific policies vary by company, many cruise lines permit a limited amount of wine or champagne to encourage passenger boarding, while strictly prohibiting outside beer or liquor to protect onboard beverage sales.
