Carnival Panorama cruise ship boosts Mazatlán tourism economy
The Carnival Panorama cruise arrived in Mazatlán on Wednesday carrying 4,786 passengers and 1,418 crew members, bringing the total onboard to 6,204 people. It is the second cruise ship to visit the port in August, part of a schedule of seven cruise arrivals for the month.
Since the start of the year the Mazatlán port has welcomed 84 vessels and more than 312,000 visitors, generating economic activity exceeding 500 million pesos. Sinaloa’s tourism secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna said cruise tourism is becoming a key driver for local merchants, transport operators, restaurateurs and other service providers. Governor Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde reiterated the state’s commitment to coordinate with maritime and municipal authorities to ensure a safe, high‑quality experience for visitors.
The Centro de Atención y Protección al Turista (CAPTA) has deployed staff to offer information, orientation and assistance to the arriving guests, supporting the municipal strategy of close, timely service for tourists exploring Mazatlán’s attractions.
