Carnival preparations begin for 2027 celebrations in Autlán and Navalmoral de la Mata

Preparations are underway for the 2027 Carnival celebrations in both Autlán de Navarro, Mexico, and Navalmoral de la Mata, Spain.

In Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, the local government and Carnival Organizing Board presented candidates for the Drivers and Poultry guilds. The Drivers guild candidate, Minerva Alhely Kristel Montiel Castillo, is supporting the construction of a teaching auditorium for the Autlán Regional Hospital. The Poultry guild candidate, Fernanda Guadalupe Medina Hernández, aims to equip a sports academy for charrería escorts to improve local infrastructure.

In Navalmoral de la Mata, the City Council has launched calls for subsidies and competitions to support the 2027 Carnival del Campo Arañuelo. This includes financial aid for the design and creation of queen and lady costumes, with grants of 2,800 euros for the children's category and 3,200 euros for the adult category. Additionally, the prize for the official carnival poster competition has been increased to 1,200 euros to encourage higher quality submissions.
